There is exactly one place to sleep on the Uetliberg: the Hotel UTO KULM, on the summit beside the lookout tower. Staying there means sunset, the lights of the city and sunrise over the Alps without another visitor in sight — and a ten-minute uphill walk from the station with your bags, because the summit is car-free.
Everyone else stays in Zurich, and the mountain is so close that almost any central hotel works. Two areas make most sense. Hotels around the main station put you beside the S10 platforms, the airport trains and the trains to the Alps. The Old Town and the lake offer more character within a walk or a short tram ride of the station.
Zurich is an expensive city and rates swing widely with trade fairs, events and season. Where a starting price is shown it is indicative only; every card links out to Trip.com for live availability.
