Uetliberg.com exists because the Uetliberg deserves more than a paragraph in a Zurich guidebook. It is an independent travel guide covering the summit, the railway, the trails, the Albis ridge and the city below — written to be useful before you go and while you are there.
What we cover
- How to get up the mountain by train or on foot, with realistic times and ticket advice.
- Which tours and passes are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
- The summit, the tower, the Planet Trail, Felsenegg and the rest of the ridge.
- Where to stay, on the summit and in Zurich.
- When to come, including the fog season.
How we research
Timetables, fares, prices and rules are checked against official sources, transport operators and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel data from Trip.com. Where a figure varies or may change — fares, entry fees, opening times — we give an approximate value and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a tour is unproven, when the free option is better than the paid one, and when the mountain is not worth the trip because it is in cloud.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placement and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Timetables change, restaurants change hands, pass conditions are revised. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
